Are you having the same problems as I did; that all the Japanese, Korean, Chinese or whatever, characters just are showing up as squares in Windows 7? Then there’s a good chance that this will solve the problem:
Open Control Panel and choose Appearance and Personalization, then Change Font Settings. At the following screen, uncheck the insidious option “Hide fonts based on language settings”. You’ll probably need to reboot your computer for the new settings to take effect (I had to.)
